The term "qualia" was introduced in philosophical literature by C. I. Lewis. The phrase is derived from Latin and means "of what type". It is basically a quantity or home of something as perceived or knowledgeable by somebody, such as scent of rose, the style of wine, or maybe the discomfort of a headache. These are tricky to articulate or explain.
